Our History

The project was born from the vision of patients who had themselves benefited from this type of therapy.

The Swiss association of patients undergoing Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy, Psychédelos (www.psychedelos.org), initiated the discussions and preparatory work that catalyzed the creation of the project. Now independent and officially recognized as a public-interest foundation, the Consciousness and Mental Health Foundation was established to make this form of care accessible to a broader public.

A Project in Motion

Financed through philanthropic contributions, the pilot phase marks the transition from vision to concrete implementation — a stage designed to test, evaluate, refine, and validate the model.

Based on fieldwork conducted in 2024 — including interviews, ecosystem consultations, and a needs analysis — this phase aims to build a coherent and practical response to the challenges identified in the field of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy (PAT).
Initial actions are already underway in three key areas:
Training, Applied research, Development of a therapeutic framework.

Objectives of the Pilot Phase

● Establish transdisciplinary and complementary training for healthcare professionals.
● Initiate an interdisciplinary framework for applied research.
● Co-develop a therapeutic model that can be tested and replicated.
● Validate the ethical, legal, and practical conditions required for a future permanent centre.
Operational implementation begins with transdisciplinary training in PAT support for doctors, psychologists, nurses, and therapists in Geneva.

Our Three Strategic Pillars

AN INNOVATIVE AND INTERCONNECTED MODEL

As of now, the first actions are underway in the three key areas: training, applied research, and building a therapeutic offer.

Training | Launch: September 2025

The first cohort began in September 2025 in Geneva.
A pilot group of 20 participants, selected through an application process, is following a unique training program that combines theoretical, practical, and experiential modules (holotropic breathwork, meditation, and body-oriented approaches).
A distinctive feature: the active involvement of peer patients and a transdisciplinary perspective integrating scientific, clinical, and experiential knowledge.

Applied Research — Discussions Underway

Discussions have begun with the Geneva School of Social Work (HETS) to develop applied research grounded in real-world experience and focused on the social and therapeutic impact of PATs. The objective is to generate meaningful data that complements clinical studies and supports the integration of these approaches into healthcare systems.

Therapeutic Framework — Co-Construction in Progress

In autumn 2025, a co-design workshop will bring together healthcare practitioners and partner organizations to define the outlines of a therapeutic model adapted to real-world needs. This process will lead to the creation of a pilot protocol, to be tested in a temporary facility in the Canton of Geneva from 2026 onwards.

Monitoring and Evaluation

The pilot phase will be continuously monitored, incorporating regular feedback, supervision, and qualitative indicators. An interim evaluation is planned for mid-2026 to assess progress and guide the next steps.
